Hey guys,
Haven't posted for a while because it started to become more of a burden than a hobby. I'm back now though. Now I've gotten a lot of messages about people wanting me to do tutorials.
Firstly, some people wanted me to explain how to make a template.
Well this takes a seriously LONG time to explain.
I spent over a year teaching myself how to do it.
I guess I'll just start with the basics.
STEPS:
ok. So what I did when I first started off making more advanced templates was to find some material to work with, and then go about editing it.
1. Click here to go to some free templates.
2. Pick one that you like. I would personally start off with a two column template, since that's easier to work with.
3. Scroll down and copy that entire HTML code. Now paste it in a word document so that you don't lose it.
4. Open up your blogger page and click TEMPLATE > Edit HTML.
5. Click inside the code box and highlight the entire code (Ctrl + A). Then go back to your word document, do the same thing and copy it (Ctrl +C). Go back to your blogger page and paste (Ctrl + V).
6. SAVE.
Now you can scroll through that code. When you see links (http://) open them and see what pictures they bring up. Then find what part of the template that picture makes up. You can then replace the picture (a part of the tempate) with your own design.
You can also do stuff like changing the colours. In case you don't already know, colours look sort of like this: #FFFFF (That's the code for white). If you need specific colours click here.
EVENTUALLY, once you have figured out how the old template works you can make one from scratch.
Now in my previous post: http://tapity1.blogspot.com/2011/10/how-i-make-my-templates.html#comment-form , I talked about the different Headings in a the old HTML code. Once you have followed the steps above you can go and look at that and it will help you to figure out what the different parts of the HTML code are on your actual blog.
